Gloucester County Network Connections @ Deptford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
On June 1st Jerry Rothkoff and Janie De Leon-Male attended the monthly Gloucester County Network Connections Meeting at Deptford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Jerry presented on legislative updates both on the State and Federal level as it relates to Medicaid, in front of an audience of over 50+ long-term care professionals from South Jersey.
EFPCSNJ Installation and Awards Dinner @ Seasons 52
On June 1st Jane M. Fearn-Zimmer, Esquire attended the Installation and Awards Dinner for the Estate and Financial Planning Council of Southern New Jersey at Seasons 52 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The Council is a professional association of estate and financial planning practitioners in the southern New Jersey region. J. Mark Penny, ASA was welcomed as the incoming President.
Gloucester County Bar Associations Installation Dinner @ Shoneys
On June 2nd Jane M. Fearn-Zimmer, Esquire attended the Gloucester County Bar Association’s Installation dinner for the 2017-2018 season, at Shoney’s in Sewell New Jersey. Ms. Fearn-Zimmer is a member of the Gloucester County Bar Association, which has been serving the Gloucester County legal community for over 100 years and also operates a non-profit foundations, the Gloucester County Bar Foundation and the Gloucester County Legal Education Association (GCLEA). Ms. Fearn-Zimmer has presented seminars to attorneys, accountants and financial planners on estate and tax and Medicaid planning topics through GCLEA.
Meet the New Memory Care Coordinator @ Birches Newtown
On June 8th Bryan Adler and Misha D’Uva attended a professional event hosted by the Birches of Newtown. At this event the Birches introduced their new Memory Care Coordinator. Many elder care professionals from the Bucks County area attended.
Rothkoff Caregiver Support Group
On June 12th we hosted our monthly Caregiver Support Group in the Cherry Hill Office. We welcomed guest speaker Kathleen Edelstein of Magically Organized to offer tips on how to minimize clutter to promote a more relaxing and stress-free home environment. Following her presentation, we continued the conversation among the participants of the support group to further discuss the burdens faced with caregiving and resources available to reduce the risk of caregiver burnout.
Ladies Night @ Artis Evesham
On June 14th we had a fun night spent with our professional lady friends at Artis Evesham. Jacinda Graham and Kara Lee along with other local health care professionals enjoyed massages, reiki, shopping for hand bags and drinks. As always Artis did a phenomenal job.
Summer Showdown @ Sunrise of Lower Makefield
On June 15th Kara Lee attended an early summer BBQ at Sunrise of Lower Makefield. Yum is all that can be said about this event. On an absolutely gorgeous day on the patio at Sunrise of Lower Makefield dining service coordinators from Sunrise and ManorCare were competing for the title of “Top Chef” and bragging rights. All your summertime favorites were available and the opportunity to vote for your favorite dish. This was a wonderful way to start off the summer and BBQ season. Great idea Sunrise and ManorCare teams.
Beach Party @ CareOne Evesham
On June 15th Jacinda Graham, our NJ client services director, attended a Beach Party social event at CareOne Assisted Living at Evesham, It was a great way to reconnect with our clients, while mingling with other long-term care professionals.
Rothkoff PA Happy Hour @ Kitchen Bar
On June 15th Rothkoff Law Group hosted its 2nd PA happy hour of 2017 at the Kitchen Bar in Abington. On this beautiful night, over 50 of our professional partners and friends enjoyed drinks and hors d’ oeuvres on the patio. Of course it wouldn’t be an RLG happy hour without some friendly competition for the Target, Dunkin Donuts, and Starbucks raffle prizes.

On June 20th Kara Lee attended a happy hour hosted by The Birches at Uno Pizzeria and Grill in BeAnother perfect perfect night for a happy hour with plenty of opportunity to mingle with local health care professionals.
BBQ @ Woodbury Mews
On June 22nd the heat didn’t stop the fun at Woodbury Mews. The breeze that swept through the beautiful courtyard kept us all cool while we indulged in some fantastic summertime fare prepared by the chef at Woodbury Mews. What a wonderful opportunity to catch up with professional friends and meet new additions to the Woodbury Mews team.
Alzheimer’s Association Annual Conference @ The Westin Princeton Forrestal Village
On June 30th Janie De Leon-Male and Jennifer Cooley, our New Jersey geriatric care coordinators, attended the Alzheimer’s Association Annual Conference in Princeton, NJ. Topics included breakthroughs on clinical research, introduction to mindfulness based stress reduction, and non-pharmacological interventions for managing challenging behaviors in dementia.

CEU seminar @ Northbrook & Elmwood Hills “Ethical Dilemmas in Representing Clients w/Diminished Capacity”
On June 1st Jerry Rothkoff presented an in-service to the professionals at Northbrook and Elmwood Hills. The topic “Ethical Dilemmas in Representing Clients with Diminished Capacity” prompted open discussion on the ethical challenges health care workers face every day.
Breakfast CEU Seminar Capacity, Competency, and Ethical Dilemmas in Elder Care: A Case Study @ Trevose Office
On June 2nd Bryan Adler presented a Continuing Education seminar for 25 professionals in our Trevose office. The topic was Capacity, Competency, and Ethical Dilemmas in Elder Care. The attendees, all elder care professionals such as social workers, nursing home administrators, and case managers, participated in a discussion of these issues while enjoying breakfast from Panera bread.

On June 14th Bryan Adler spoke to 15 professional staff members of Chandler Hall, a Bucks County long term care community, regarding ethical dilemmas in representing Clients with Diminished Capacity. Bryan discussed Powers of Attorney and Guardianships, and also addressed attendees’ questions about legal mental capacity.
Seminar for General Public @ Sunrise VA Benefits
On June 14th Bryan Adler spoke to 15 individuals from the community regarding Veterans Benefits that are available to assist in paying long term care costs. The discussion included available benefits and asset planning to accelerate eligibility for those Benefits.
CEU Seminar “Positioning Yourself for Changing Demographics: The Future of LTC” @ Sunrise of Dresher
On June 15th Bryan Adler presented a CE seminar to Elder Care professionals on the Changing Demographics of long-term care. The discussion included changing mentalities as baby-boomers are now requiring long-term care, and also technology available to reduce care costs and increase independence.
