Jane Attends Real Men Wear Pink Concert

Attorney and member of the ACS South Jersey Board of Advisors, Jane Fearn-Zimmer attended The Real Men Wear Pink Concert event on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Marlton Tavern. This event was part of the Real Men Wear Pink initiative of the American Cancer Society hosted by Phil Wessner of Beneficial Bank benefiting the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer research, education, advocacy and support programs.  Attendees enjoyed  hors d’oevres, happy hour, and dancing to music from the 1980’s by “The 80’s Revenge.”  Ms. Fearn-Zimmer is shown with Dara Heidt, Director, Estate and Gift Planning, NJ Chapter, American Cancer Society, and with Mr. Wessner.  Jane, thanks for sharing your photos with us – it looked like you had a blast!

Celebrating Assisted Living Week

We celebrated Assisted Living Week with our friends at Home Helpers’ Open House and Clare Estates’ Happy Hour.

Networking at Sangria on the Sunporch sponsored by the Bridges of Warwick

We had an opportunity to network with other professionals over drinks at Sangria on the Sunporch, an event sponsored by the Bridges of Warwick.  It was a welcome opportunity to relax on an otherwise hectic and rainy Thursday.

Fall Festival at Brookdale Marlton

Joanne Solometo,VA Benefits Specialist and Janie DeLeon-Male, Director of Care Coordination attended the Fall Festival at Brookdale, Marlton Crossing.  Louise Wichrowski did another marvelous job coordinating this event. Joanne and Janie were able to connect with other long-term care professionals, while interacting with Brookdale’s residents as they kicked off fall.

Long Term Care Planning at Burlington County Library

The Caring for Our Parents event was hosted by Jean Stanfield, Sheriff, Burlington County, at the Burlington County Free Library in Westampton, New Jersey on Saturday, September 24, 2016. This multi-disciplinary event featured Burlington County Freeholder Mary Ann O’Brien, Pamela Krasnigor from Careone at Moorestown, Julie Thomas from the Alzheimer’s Association and Rothkoff Law Group’s Jane M. Fearn-Zimmer, Esq.

Ms. Fearn-Zimmer discussed strategies for crisis long term care and asset protection planning for elderly individuals, including decision making for your parents, using Veteran’s Benefits to help pay for your parents’ care, crisis Medicaid strategies, what to do if there was gifting during the five year Medicaid look back period, and using existing long term care insurance policies to finance long term care. Advanced planning strategies such as the use of a New Jersey Long Term Care Insurance Partnership policy was also covered. About 40 Burlington County residents attended the educational presentation.

September’s Caregiver Support Group
Our support group featured Dr. William Dietner of Fox Rehabilitation and Tim Ryder of Grab Bar Guy. They shared their industry knowledge with attendees. As a reminder our Caregiver Support Group meets the second Monday of the month and is free to attend, just RSVP!

Focus on the Professional Breakfast Seminar

At this CEU seminar we discussed VA Benefits to fund long term care, as well as upcoming changes to the eligibility requirements for these benefits.  The attendees included social workers, discharge planners, and other long term care professionals.

CEU Dinner at Carlucci’s

The weather and traffic congestion did not stop us from having another successful sold out dinner CEU seminar at Carlucci’s.  Jerold Rothkoff did not disappoint he was very informative and entertaining.  The food was excellent and the Carluccis team was phenomenal — a fun night had by all.

About Kara

Kara is the Outreach Coordinator with the Rothkoff Law Group, and elder care law firm. Kara brings over 15 years of experience working with the elderly. Kara has the ability to build relationships with area long-term care providers is critical in ensuring that our clients are made aware of the many resources that are available to them. Kara graduated from the York College of Pennsylvania. She enjoys spending her free time with her family, taking vacations, scuba diving, and skiing. She is also an active volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association.
