I am not I favor of the proposed Senate healthcare bill in its current form. However, I believe there is some good news that has come out of the debate on the healthcare bill. The current debate has brought out the importance of Medicaid to many lower and middle class families. It is my hope that those charged with formulating and voting on whatever bill is finalized will hear the voices of millions of Americans.
There is no question Obamacare needs improvement. However, the improvement should be based on a review of the entire healthcare system, which includes both Medicare and Medicaid. An honest discussion on healthcare costs cannot just include Medicaid. Healthcare reform should be based upon the sacrifice of all Americans, not simply the poor and elderly.
