FEBRUARY 27, 2019 (Cherry Hill, NJ) – Jerold Rothkoff, Esq., of Rothkoff Law Group, an elder care law firm in Cherry Hill, and Murphy Vandervelde, co-owner of The Fountains at Cedar Parke in Atco, N.J., will each be honored with the Kaleidoscope Award for Philanthropic Excellence given by the Alzheimer’s Association for their efforts to support the mission of creating a world without Alzheimer’s disease.

For the last 20 years Mr. Rothkoff has been advocating for seniors through his elder care and life care planning law firm. Mr. Rothkoff is also involved in many local south jersey charities that dedicate time and resources to the support Dementia research and patient care.

In 2018, his vision of an educational day for professionals became a reality with the first annual Elder Care Symposium for Professionals with Murphy Vandervelde as the Presenting Sponsor.  

The keynote speaker was Eloy van Hal, co-founder of Dementia Village in the Netherlands. Eloy shared the successes of what Dementia Village has done for residents over the last 20 years and how we can follow suit in the US with our care models. Dementia is a general term for a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with daily life. Memory loss is an example. Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia.

The Kaleidoscope Award for Philanthropic Excellence 2019 will be presented at the  19th Annual Spring Golf Outing on May 6th, 2019 at Laurel Creek Country Club.
