You’re never too old to dream! At Rothkoff, our days are filled with helping the elderly and those with elderly loved ones, but this New Jersey native has decided to spend his golden years on a new adventure.
Ninety-three year old veteran Ray Boutwell – who has called Jersey home since 1942 – opened his new shop, Ray’s Boozy Cupcakes Etc, this past month. One of Rothkoff’s employees, Stephanie, got a chance to drop in and check it out – which was easier said than done! Upon arrival, she joined a long line waiting to try one of Ray’s treats. The busy owner even took a few minutes to meet Stephanie, and grab some photos.
Although Ray does include alcohol in some of his treats (think Kahlua Cappuccino, Banana-Strawberry Daiquiri, and Apple Brandy), he also offers regular cupcakes, custom cakes, and other specialty confections like mini cream puffs. Plus, on Wednesdays, he offers 10% off for senior citizens (65+) and veterans.
Ray was both in the Navy and a former baker, so he’s getting to share his passion with the world and Rothkoff is happy to support him in his efforts. You can find him at 1225 Haddonfield-Berlin Road in Voorhees Township and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pg/Rays-Boozy-Cupcakes-Etc-101073731271761.
We love seeing our elderly community members doing great things, and we hope that you will support him as well.
