I am honored and proud to be a member of the Board of Directors for two nonprofit organizations that serve the needs of seniors and their loved ones. ARTZ Philadelphia and Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Southern New Jersey (JFCS) are the nonprofits. Each nonprofit offers complimentary programs for older adults and those living with dementia.

ARTZ Philadelphia is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and well-being of people with dementia and their care partners through joyful interactions around arts and culture. Their evidence-based programs connect people with dementia and those they love with artists, cultural organizations, and each other. They help build caring, supportive communities that restore and preserve the self-esteem and dignity of our constituents, regardless of their color, culture, where they live, or economic resources.

ARTZ Philadelphia envisions a world in which people living with dementia and their care partners enjoy the benefits of well-being and quality of life that others enjoy. They are committed to ensuring equal access to the resources that enhance the quality of life, inspire individual and communal creativity, and empower self-expression and continued self-realization.

JFCS 60+ Services are in place to make that hope a reality. The program offers wellness support, practical in-home services, and valuable resources such as transportation and support groups to help maintain community connections. For every stage of aging, JFCS 60+ Services has a comprehensive menu of offerings that helps enrich and assist individuals. JFCS programs include:

  • Café Connection: A Memory Café: This free program is for those living with dementia or other cognitive impairments. Folks come together with a care partner for a morning, socializing over coffee and engaging in a creative activity.
  • Grief Support Group for Widows and Widowers or those who have lost their life partner in the past year. The group offers an opportunity to explore the myriad of feelings and gain practical ways of coping with the loss.
  • JFCS services for those 60 and older. Our social workers can provide resources both within and outside our agency.

Please contact our office if you have any questions on the programs available.
