A Message from Jerold E. Rothkoff

To Our Professional Partners, Clients, and Consumers:  During the past four months, we all needed to change the way we do business, communicate with one another, and continue to provide necessary services. Through the hard work and commitment of our entire Rothkoff Elder Care Law team, we have implemented the following during the past several months: Facilitated weekly long-term care professional networking Zoom calls during which we offered educational opportunities. Transitioned all of our in-person professional and consumers seminars [...]

His answer was a resounding yes. He went on to say, “Our firm values continually educating our team. We Love (Virtual) Hugs

As of this writing, March 21, 2020, due to COVID-19, both New Jersey and Pennsylvania have stay at home orders in place. Additionally, each state has ordered “non-essential” businesses to close, requiring all “non-essential” businesses to work remotely. As much as I feel our elder care law services are essential, we are abiding by all local, state, and federal guidelines and orders. I hope, as we all do, that when you are reading this, the situation will have dramatically improved, and we can all return to our normal lives. However, two things that did not change –  the needs our [...]

Life Lessons From Two Decades Advocating for Seniors

On February 1, 2000, I began a journey to an unknown destination. On this day twenty years ago, I opened my elder care law office. If you were to tell me twenty years later we would expand to six offices in NJ and PA, employ thirty team members, including five attorneys and six geriatric social workers, establish groundbreaking elder care symposiums in NJ & PA, receive numerous awards and recognition for our firm’s advocacy for seniors, and teach other attorneys across the United States how to engage in legal advocacy for seniors, I would not have believed it. Last month, [...]

Pixar’s Coco Reveals the Importance of Remembering Family Members

Over Thanksgiving weekend, my family and I saw the new Pixar movie, Coco.  The result of which is now I recall crying watching two animated Pixar films.  Up, my all-time favorite Pixar movie, and now Coco.  Like so many Pixar films before it, Coco indulges the belief that kids know best, while it’s up to adults to come around.  In the case of Coco, a misunderstood child attempts to convince his family of humble shoemakers to allow him to fulfill his lifelong dream of playing the guitar.  Only trouble is, the child’s family has forbidden any form of music in their household for the past [...]
